For the role, responsibilities entail overseeing the day-to-day operations, profitability, and presentation of the lodge. This involves planning, organising, directing, and coordinating staff and resources to ensure efficient, well-prepared, and high-level service for accommodation, cleanliness, and housekeeping.The annual salary will be $71,000 plus superannuation.Responsible for:
- Supervising reception, reservation, housekeeping services, and delegating tasks and responsibilities to appropriate departments, both directly and through subordinates.
- Supervising the day-to-day financial viability, display, and functioning of the establishment.
- Overseeing the safety and cleanliness of front-of-house staff, customer areas, and areas surrounding the motel, ensuring all cleaning and maintenance schedules are complied with.
- Recruiting and inducting floor staff (ensuring adequate skilled staff levels are maintained at all times).
- Organising the roster to ensure all shifts deliver high service standards.
- Covering extra shifts as required, in the case of staff shortages, to ensure service standards are maintained.
- Handle complaints according to guidelines so that it leaves customers satisfied and impressed.
- Offering guests access to local tourism details and coordinating tours and transportation services.
- Balancing the register at the end of the shift, ensuring a high level of accuracy and honesty.
- Assisting in the planning for future development of facilities and service improvements.
- Ensuring disciplinary action is taken for breaches of company regulations.
- Maintaining high standards of morale and personal appearance of all staff.
- Observing all the laws, health, and safety regulations are being followed including all necessary licences that are valid and current.
- Ensuring the safety of staff and patrons during service and after leaving.
- Supervising the purchases and reordering of essential stock.
- Communicating with the Company Directors regarding any problems or changes needed with service.
- Maintaining wage costs within company guidelines.
- Ensuring effective communication by attending meetings as required and holding staff meetings regularly to impart information.
Uniforms should be self-laundered and always of a high standard. Black leather shoes, clean-shaven daily for males or tasteful makeup for females is required. Hair should be tied back if long and groomed. Any body piercing should be discreet and tasteful, with no nose or eyebrow rings or bolts permitted. Showy rings are also prohibited. Additionally, carrying own pen and a small notepad on all shifts is required.
