About the Role
The MS Parts Sales Manager is responsible for generating Parts Sales through direct site visits and interactions with site and senior customer personnel. The role utilisies industry and equipment specific knowledge and experience to provide superior parts support to our existing customers, to seek out and identify new sales opportunities for both capital equipment and Parts Sales. Whilst promoting and selling Astec Australia service capacity.
The role is expected to pre-plan their month with a minimum of 2 weeks’ travel out to customer sites per month.
Additionally, this role would manage the other 2 aftermarket parts Sales roles, ensuring that the team track towards reaching the department budget.
Deliverables & Responsibilities
- Manage the Aftermarket Parts sales team
- Implement and maintain processes / systems
- Guide and mentor, the team to reach annual budget
- Assist the Parts Director with performing the formal discussions for the team such as performance management and High-Performance conversations
- Promote continuous improvement and champion change
- Develop strong customer relationships.
- Provide parts advice and support to customers
- Prepare customer and service sales quotations & estimates
- Maintain customer database and present sales forecasts to management team
- Investigate any customer issues and rectify to a successful outcome
- Liaise with service, sales and engineering staff
- Raise purchase orders and source parts locally and internationally
- Other duties as assigned by your Manager
To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:
- Min 5 years within a similar environment
- Experience managing teams and implementing systems/ processes to maximise efficiency and reach the budgeted target
- Experience working in Quarrying, Mining or Mobile Plant Machinery industries would be desirable
- Previous experience of accounting software, Tencia/Oracle- Highly advantageous
- Must be personable and able to build to fit into our High-Performance Culture mindset
- Able to self-manage workload and perform to strict deadlines
- Proactive and able to use critical thinking
- Outstanding customer service skills, with excellent time management processes
- Ability to develop and maintain customer and vendor relationships
