About the role:

You are a high performer, who is flexible, adaptable and remains calm under pressure. This role is your opportunity to be a 2IC to our Mullumbimby Site Manager and to take your career to the next level in NDIS. You have a thorough understanding of administration tasks, rostering and relish the opportunity for a challenge in problem solving. You embrace diversity and being responsive to the needs and aspirations of people with a disability. Your key responsibilities in this role include:

  • Coordinating the day-to-day operations of Mullumbimby day services
  • Ensuring a homely, respectful and inclusive environment is provided for our participants
  • Making sure staff are supporting participants with a person-centered approach
  • Leading teams by example and providing ongoing training, mentoring and support for residential support workers
  • Consulting with and sustaining open, transparent communication with the families, carers and guardians of the participants we support and other external stakeholders such as allied health professionals and medical practitioners
  • Coordinating resources, rosters and budgets effectively and in line with the SCHADS Award to ensure ongoing sustainability of services
  • Working with HR to maintain compliance with policies, Behaviour Support Plans, participant goals and NDIS regulations and standards
  • Assisting the Manager in planning, organising and developing the establishment and growth of accommodation services
  • Being flexible to step in and cover shifts where required

Desirable criteria:

  • A positive attitude towards people with disabilities and a working knowledge of the NDIS Disability Service Standards
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, a high level of emotional intelligence and the ability to build trust and develop rapport
  • Demonstrable experience leading and mentoring a high-performing team
  • Significant experience within accommodation services and an understanding of what quality service looks like
  • The ability to work with staff and external stakeholders to support participants develop independence and work towards their goals
  • A sound understanding of the SCHADS Award and experience with managing rosters
  • High level administration skills and the ability to manage your workload effectively to achieve agreed outcomes in a dynamic environment
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Disability / Community Services preferred
  • Current, unrestricted NSW Drivers Licence and good driving record
  • Current Working with Children Check & NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
