The role
Origin are looking for an experienced Mechanical Technician, E&I technician or Engineer to join the Spring Gully Facilities team as a Multi-Skilled Operator. Mechs/E&I/Engineers who don’t have operating experience, or missing some of the skills required, ongoing training will be provided to the successful candidate, to bridge any gaps in technical or leadership capabilities.
This position is working within the Spring Gully Facilities Operations and Maintenance teams, to ensure the safe operation of our Integrated Gas assets. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of our Spring Gully Gas Processing Facilities.
This is a live local role, 2/2 roster. Origin will provide comprehensive relocation and living local allowances. This means you must currently reside within or be able to relocate to the Maranoa Region.
More about the role
The role will involve general operation, as well as mechanical or I&E maintenance of our substantial fleet of equipment.
- Operation of our:
- 16x Caterpillar G3612 gas compression engines and Aerial GJD reciprocating compressors
- Caterpillar G3406, G3412, G3516 gas compression engines
- Atlas Copco and CompAir air compressors
- Positive displacement pumps on TEG dehydration systems
- Considerable variety of pumps and valves across the gas and water processing facilities
- 3x gas fired gas processing facilities, with a combined throughput of ~200 TJ/d.
- Water treatment facility, with a throughput of ~11 ML/d.
- Next generation electric drive gas processing facility, with a throughput of ~180 TJ/d.
- EEHA, electrical and instrumentation equipment
- Some control room and SCADA operations (CitectSCADA and FAST/TOOLS). It is not a dedicated panel operator position.
The role also includes working towards becoming:
- A permit authority and authorised isolator
- A permit holder and working under permits.
- Supervisor of work parties within your facility
- Performing audits and assurance activities of equipment and operation
About you
You will be self-aware and able to reflect on your capabilities, behaviour and attitude.
The preferred candidate will have:
- Any/all of the following qualifications:
- Mechanical trade/ E&I trade / engineering degree
- Gas production operations
- Cert 3 Process Operations (Desirable)
- Knowledge of operations practices within the gas industry
- Understanding of health safety and environmental practices and high level of safety awareness
- High level of self-motivation
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work within a multi-discipline integrated team
