We are proud of the sense of community that characterises our school.Our school campus is located in the leafy inner east suburb of Canterbury, on land originally inhabited by the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation, and blends period architecture with exciting contemporary design and state-of-the-art facilities.ABOUT THE ROLEWe are seeking a dynamic, passionate, and experienced Music School Administration Manager to work closely with the Head of Music, the Music School Administration Assistant and the Music Department to ensure the smooth and efficient running of our Music School so that our talented staff can focus on providing the best experience possible to our students. This is a hands-on role that will see you leading the day-to-day operations of our Music School.Music is an integral part of school life from Pre-Prep to Year 12. We have a long-standing tradition of music making at Camberwell Grammar School. We have two symphony orchestras, three string orchestras, five concert bands, three stage bands, various chamber ensembles and the three school choirs. Major school concerts and student recitals are regular features of the music calendar; many of which are held in our state of the art Performing Arts Centre, capable of accommodating a full symphony orchestra.This is a full-time fixed term contract commencing in May 2024, in a progressive, creative, supportive and well-resourced team environment. The contract would be for 9 months but may be extended. This role has one direct report.The areas of responsibility for the role include: Music office administration to ensure key processes such as billing, payroll and timetables are completed Managing room bookings including lesson, ensemble and concert bookings Preparing class, ensemble and lesson student lists and entering these details into our systems Ensuring teachers have all the information they need Administering music scholarships Recruitment of casual music staff Ongoing maintenance of our music system (Music Monitor) Overseeing communication to staff, students and parents Assisting with music events and concerts as requiredABOUT YOUIdeally you will have experience in a similar role. You are passionate about music, love working with people and have a knack for bringing lots of processes together to ensure the smooth running of operations. Knowledge & Skills At least 2 years’ previous experience in a busy and diverse administration role, school and music administration experience would be highly regarded Previous experience managing staff A demonstrated process improvement mindset Outstanding administration skills with an eye for detail A strong appreciation and passion for music Exceptional timetabling / scheduling skills – peripheral vision and strategic time lining Excellent client management and customer service skills The ability to work with students in a professional, supportive, safe and caring manner Outstanding time management and organisational skills with the ability to juggle several tasks and responsibilities at once and work under pressure Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as experience using databases – Music Monitor (advantageous)Qualifications Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business/Administration (music qualification would be an advantage) Working with Children Check National Crime CheckWHY JOIN CAMBERWELL GRAMMAR SCHOOL?At Camberwell Grammar we have a vision of learning which encompasses all aspects of life – not just the intellectual, but also the social, cultural, physical and spiritual.
