An opportunity has arisen to join the People & Capability team to lead and elevate the Employment Relations function. Reporting to the CPO, this position will lead and coach a team of 5 specialists in the development, co-ordination and implementation of the University’s employment and workplace relations strategies, frameworks and agreements. In this broad role, your responsibilities will include:
- Advising, supporting and leading the Employment Relations team through complex case management in line with the University’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Representing the University in employment and workplace jurisdictions such as commission hearings, external stakeholder engagements and union negotiations.
- Reviewing and maintaining employment and workplace relations policies in line with legislative changes and best practice.
- Researching and developing proposals for enterprise bargaining and higher education policies that align with the strategic plan and relevant legislative requirements.
- Providing regular case management reports, identifying hotspots to effectively manage and mitigate risks.
- Preparing and delivering presentations and information sessions to senior leaders to increase capability of people leaders.
- Leading and building a high functioning, proactive and service orientated ER team.
