Due to our national expansion, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced National Safety Manager to join our team based at our Sunshine Coast Head Office.
The role:
- Set strategic direction of WHS across Ambrose Construct Group to ensure the business is best placed to meet emerging WHS risks to its workers, trades, and customers.
- Complete monthly reports on WHS performance to the CEO, Executive Team and The Board
- Ensure there are effective consultation processes in place to advise trades, Building Supervisors, Construction Managers on the latest WHS updates.
- Provide advice and assistance to managers to comply with all relevant WHS statutory requirements and to contribute to the development of corporate policies and procedures
- Conduct and audit Toolbox Talks
- Complete and audit onsite risk assessment and hazard identification
- Assist with recruitment and onboarding of safety positions in the business
- Gather, maintain and analyse WHS statistical data and report trends and recommend any required actions.
- Report any identified hazards, incidents including near misses or injuries which arise in the course of work
- Active coordination and early involvement in any injury and claims management process
- Advise management on accident prevention strategies and assist in their implementation.
- Certificate IV or higher in WHS
- Must be prepared to travel as necessary
- Proven track record in a similar role and experience in the construction industry
- Excellent communication skills
- High-level computer skills across mobile devices, repair management systems and Microsoft Office suite of programs
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Experience and competencies in hazard Identification, and risk management
- Experienced in the running of high level OH&S Management systems
- Completed and hold a Construction General Induction Card/White Card
- Completed qualifications in a First Aid Certificate
- Currently hold a valid driver’s licence
- A strong understanding of Workplace Health & Safety Management Systems within the Construction Industry
- A broad knowledge and understanding of the relevant WHS Acts and Regulations, Compliance Codes and Codes of Practices, Australian Standards and Guidance Materials
- The ability to produce quality written reports
- Strong people skills
- A 'can do' energetic attitude and action-oriented approach
