Job Description:The
National Workforce Planner's primary role is to collate, evaluate and deliver an efficient, fit for purpose, workforce planning product, for each of the department's internal customers.
Key Accountabilities- Ensure the rostering system is maintained and functioning correctly to ensure the efficient and compliant allocation of business employees
- Identification of roster system issues and initiate appropriate escalation to the vendor helpdesk for resolution
- Identify any development required of systems based on changes to business requirements and initiate with vendor.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of all future versions of the labour management system.
- Identify and implement changes to systems required by future Enterprise Agreements (EA's)
- Preparation and administration of the Annual Leave Plan for all relevant employees.
- Ensuring the produced plan is balanced and complies with approved predetermined levels.
- Publish the acknowledged and signed leave product in accordance with documented timelines.
- Liaise with stakeholders to ensure all roster related inputs are up to date and actioned in a timely and efficient manner
- Perform detailed analysis of published and proposed schedules to determine changes to enable better utilization of the Terminal labour workforce
- Recommend changes to work rules, existing practices, system enhancements, and procedural improvements with a view to reducing costs. To be followed up with business plan.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience- Tertiary or Industry related qualification(s)
- In-depth understanding and application of workforce planning
- Previous experience in the preparation of rosters for a large workforce
- Strong acumen for process evaluation to identify and establish ongoing improvements
- Great ability to analyse & interpret data by providing relevant context resulting in quantifiable measurements and actionable recommendations
- High levels of interpersonal communication with the ability to effectively communicate to all levels of staff
- Sound understanding of the relevant Enterprise Agreement and the Award
- Good technical ability in the use of software and computer system - preferably experience using Microster
