We are looking for a suitably qualified Natural Areas Environment Officerto join the team. You will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing plans and strategies that contribute to the conservation of the natural environmental values of Glenorchy City, including planning, undertaking, and monitoring on-ground works including weed control. The role will also provide expert technical advice on natural environment matters to internal staff across the organisation, including the provision of strategy, procedural and Development Application advice as required.
The successful applicant will:
- Develop and implement weed management strategies
- Support Council’s Natural Areas Engagement Officer and the Environmental Volunteer Program
- Provide environmental advice for development assessments relevant to the Tasmanian Planning Scheme.
Qualifications required:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or similar with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a natural resource management related field.
Position Hours: Full-Time, 75 hours fortnight.
Salary range: $75,459.94 to $84,927.92 plus superannuation
