Job Description
As our Natural Resource Management Officer (NRMO) you will provide specialist advice, guidance and leadership to our Shire and the community regarding best practice management of Natural Resources and environmental issues, coordinate and participate in NRM programs and projects and lead the management of contaminated sites.
Your flexible and friendly communication style will support you in engaging with and educating our community regarding NRM, and your professional, dedicated approach will enable you to build productive relationships with staff and stakeholders to achieve organisational objectives.

- Base annual salary circa $80,000 per annum dependent on skills, experience, and qualifications
- Annual leave loading of 17.5%

To be considered for this role you will be able to demonstrate:
- Behaviour that positively demonstrates the Shire’s HEART of: Honesty, Empathy, Accountability, Respect and Teamwork
- Experience and /or qualifications in Environmental Science
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Experience in reserve management, and preparation and assessment of clearing permits
- Skilled in grant application, funding management and report writing
- Proficient computer skills
Knowledge of water quality/testing, plant species, weed control methods and NRM practices for the south west region, as well as experience with management and rehabilitation of contaminated sites will be highly regarded.
