NDT TechnicianAbout the roleFinding better ways to provide the materials the world needs.We are looking for an NDT Technician to provide a specialist Non-Destructive Testing Service to the Rio Tinto Yarwun refinery.We now have an exciting opportunity available for a motivated and committed individual to join our growing Condition Moniting team. If you have a desire to work in a fast-paced environment and enjoy dealing with a broad range of stakeholders, then this role is for you.This role is a great opportunity to work within the maintenance strategy to perform various non-destructive testing techniques to monitor plant condition. These include, Ultrasonic Thickness Testing, crack detection and weld inspection. We do the work only if it is safe, and we invest to make sure every member of the team has the quality tools they need to do their job.Reporting to the Condition Monitoring Team Leader and working in a diverse team within the Engineering department, you will:

• Able to produce detailed plant condition reports with relevant standards.
• Complete routine inspections on all equipment across the site
• Maintain the refinery’s Non Destructive Testing Reporting Systems and identify changes to the maintenance strategy based on plant condition data.
• Liaise with engineering team members to establish priorities for work arising from NDT.

What you’ll bring

• AINDT qualifications or equivalent in Ultrasonic Testing Level 1, Magnetic Particle Testing Level 2
• Strong commitment to safety
• Motivation and commitment to learn a new skill and grow your career
• Good working knowledge of NDT
• A passion for improving plant and ensuring a safe and reliable asset.

It would also be beneficial if you have:

• Dye Penetrant Testing level 2, Ultrasonic Testing Level 2
• Heavy industry and refinery experience
