About the role:
As the Network and Systems Engineer reporting to the IT Manager and operating in a small team, you will play a leading role in supporting and managing diverse platforms including Enterprise systems, servers, storage, LAN, Private and Public Cloud Based infrastructure as well as a broad set of business solutions servicing the logistics industry. Cyber initiatives, patch/vulnerability management as well as hardware and software maintenance are also key functions of this role.
This position will strongly focus on enhancing the corporate environment to ensure best practices are adopted and the objectives of the ICT strategy are achieved. The role will include project work, managing our 3rd party support contractors, as well as managing the physical and virtual equipment across 5 sites nationwide.
The role provides exposure to a range of technologies including but not limited to Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Server, Azure, Cisco, VMware and Palo Alto as well as various systems and operating activities within the logistics industry.

Role responsibilities:
- Assist with the design, planning, implementation, and post implementation tasks relating to IT projects.
- Contribute your knowledge of solutions and technologies with the organisation through Knowledge Bases, forums or organisation meetings.
- Demonstrate ability to adopt, master and deploy new technologies along with identifying deployment opportunities.
- Implement and deploy solutions to manage extensive fleet of mobile devices.
- Apply implementation expertise, troubleshoot creatively, plan strategically, and communicate effectively.
- Analyse the broad Network and infrastructure consistently proposing solutions aligned with stakeholder objectives.
- Ensure Cyber Security objectives are applied throughout the corporate environment which includes implementing security measures to protect data and Systems from potential threats.
- Develop and participate in Cyber Security simulations aimed at protecting the corporate network.
Key Requirements:
- Holds IT technical certifications in Networking and Infrastructure, e.g. Cisco & Microsoft.
- Mobile device management experience.
- Install and implement networking and server equipment
- Familiarity with enterprise network, wireless, server and storage hardware platforms including but not limited to Dell/EMC, Cisco, Palo Alto etc.
- Excellent Microsoft platform expertise including but not limited to Active Directory, Group Policy, Office 365, Intune, hybrid on-premise and cloud / Azure based solutions
- Endpoint security management
- Patch management experience
- A work history that includes success in troubleshooting
- Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written including documentation
- Diligent administrative skills are mandatory
