Network Engineer

System Engineer - Network - 12 months contract - CBD location Your new company We are currently recruiting a self-motivated Network Engineer for our well-known client based in Sydney CBD. Your new role The responsibility of this role is to provide Network Engineering and network monitoring in support to internal and extended customers and contribute to the delivery of infrastructure projects.
Responsible for implementation and administration of network hardware, software and monitoring systems.
Performing analysis of network needs and contributing to design, integration, and installation of hardware and software.
Periodic network monitoring to determine the health of the network systems.
Analyse network traffic to identify problems with capacity and performance.
Responding to network incidents and taking approved migration actions to ensure business continuity
Ensure that incidents are correctly entered, prioritised and categorised, kept up-to-date and tracked through Service Management Software
In conjunction with other team members, it ensures the highest quality of service is provided concerning infrastructure provisioning and support tickets.
Professionally responds to service requests via the appropriate channels and in-line with applicable service level agreements.
Contribute to and maintain network system documentation in support of IT Infrastructure Operations.
Compliance with company guidelines.
What you'll need to succeed
A current Cisco CCNP is essential.
Strong networking background with proven experience working in large heterogeneous network environments
Good experience in design and implementation of complex WAN, LAN and Wireless solutions
Extensive experience in routing protocol (BGP, OSPF, PBR)
Good understanding of LAN/WAN technologies including VLAN, VXLAN, VRF, QOS, SD-WAN, IPSEC, STP
Extensive hands-on experience in implementation of Cisco and Arista BGP EVPN VXLAN Data Centre Solutions.
Extensive experience in managing and configuration of F5 LTM/GTM with BIG-IQ is essential, Radware Alteon and Citrix Netscaler are highly desirable.
Hands-on experience managing PaloAlto Firewall infrastructure
Experience with Google, AWS and Azure cloud networks desirable
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Minimum 5 Years' experience in a similar role in operations support.
