About the Department and Branch Located in the Infrastructure Operations department, the Network Operations Team is responsible for operating, controlling, and monitoring all the active assets within the water, recycled water and sewerage networks on the Gold Coast. Network Operations are pivotal in monitoring all active assets and overseeing the operation of the passive assets, including 3,500km of water mains and 3,500km of sewerage to provide safe drinking water supplies and sewerage collection. About the position This exciting opportunity will see you trained to monitor all active and passive assets to provide safe drinking water supplies and sewage collection and treatment across the City of Gold Coast. You will be given the opportunity to analyse, fault investigation, shutdown planning and manipulation the City of Gold Coast's water, recycled water and sewerage networks to proactively and reactively respond to stakeholder requests. Key deliverables of the position Monitoring all Water and Sewerage active assets ( 600, including reservoirs, water pump stations, re-chlorination stations, sewerage pump stations, and re-cycled water pump stations) via a SCADA network monitoring system Actioning faults reported via SCADA or public call centre in the Water, Recycled Water and Sewerage Network Responding to residents' water and sewerage issues and actioning accordingly based on priority/safety Manipulate the network to mitigate against environmental spills when due to asset failure or water outages and quality issues Scope, plan and coordinate water, recycled water and sewerage networks shutdowns (planned or unplanned) Manipulate water, recycled water and sewerage networks to manage supply and environmental issues. About You Highly developed interpersonal skills, with experience interacting with the public/external stakeholders. Knowledge and experience in water and sewerage industry along with SCADA control systems would be an advantage, particularly in an Operational environment.
