AddressPosition Purpose
The Network & Systems Engineer is responsible for support in designing, implementing, and maintaining the organisation's network and system infrastructure. They ensure seamless operations, optimal performance, and adherence to industry standards and compliance regulations. Key responsibilities include analysing network requirements, configuring hardware and software, monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and providing technical support to end-users.
Key Accountabilities
- Own the service deliverables from an IT perspective and proactively manage requests/issues from stakeholders with proven improvement.
- Conduct a service delivery survey quarterly to understand and areas of focus from a stakeholder perspective.
- Provisioning and consumptions of public cloud services.
- The implementation and management of enterprise ICT infrastructure, networking and perimeter defence for ICT cloud and hosting service delivery.
- Azure networking services, including Azure Virtual Network, Azure Firewall, and Azure VPN Gateway.
- The delivery of enterprise network devices, servers, and storage appliances.
- Azure-based network solutions, including virtual networks, subnets, VPNs, and ExpressRoute configurations, NSG’s.
- Experience within application packaging, SOE, patching, and deployments using technologies like Endpoint Manger (Intune).
- Cloud services e.g. Dropbox, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 (All areas, e.g. Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, etc), Cisco WebEx.
- Enterprise data protection & backup technologies e.g Commvault Metallic.
- Scripting e.g. PowerShell, Python.
- The delivery of ICT services on enterprise SAN and NAS enterprise storage
- ICT service support of appliances for enterprise switching routing and networking.
- Network troubleshooting and performance optimization.
- Setup and Support of desktop, infrastructure and services across multiple technology streams including, Hardware, Software, Networks, Server, Print etc

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Proficiency in network administration including:
- Router and switch configuration
- Firewall configuration with expertise in enterprise security technologies such as Palo Alto, Meraki MX, and Mimecast
- Familiarity with networking technologies such as Cisco, Cisco Meraki, Teltonika, Cambium, Moxa, WAN, Azure Virtual Networks, and Microwave (PTP, PMP)
Experience in system administration with expertise in:
- Operating systems administration, particularly Windows Server
- Active Directory management, including user, group, and permission management
- User account management, including creation, modification, and deletion
- Configuration and management of Intune policies for centralized system management
- Server maintenance, patching, upgrading, hardening, and optimization
- Server deployment and configuration based on organizational requirements
- Virtualization experience with technologies like VMware or Hyper-V
- Implementation and optimization of server monitoring tools, along with routine maintenance tasks.
