Our NeuroJunior team provides a comprehensive, multidisciplinary allied health service, with a dedicated NeuroJunior clinic as well as access to innovative NeuroRehab therapy centres across Melbourne. We provide therapy where it is most needed, including offering home, education and community-based services. 

NeuroJunior (paediatric) Senior Occupational Therapist

Our NeuroJunior Occupational Therapy works as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team. You will provide assessment and therapy services to children and young people with developmental and acquired neurological conditions and disabilities such as developmental delay, autism, cerebral palsy, and intellectual disability. You will be working with children, young people and their families in various settings (home, school and clinic). The role is challenging and rewarding, ideal for those looking to make a difference to these children and young persons. 

We are a Child Safe organisation and adhere to Victorian Child Safe regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery of NeuroJunior services including OT assessments, interventions, treatment planning, education and reporting.
  • Prescription and funding requests of AT as required.
  • Supervision of less experienced NJ OTs, new grads and Interns.
  • Support clients with a person-centred approach, to promote inclusion and new possibilities.
  • Collaborate with a well-structured multidisciplinary team.

NeuroJunior Home Clinic

The NeuroJunior Senior Occupational Therapist will be based within our Western (Deer Park, Werribee, or Melton) Team. We have dedicated NeuroJunior clinics newly opened in Deer Park and Werribee, and you will also have access to our NeuroRehab clinics. Working hours are negotiated directly with the clients allowing excellent flexibility in your diary management. We are looking for full-time applications. However, part-time applications for people looking for flexibility are welcome to apply!

  • NeuroRehab gives you a generous personal budget to spend on professional development that you are interested in. We offer funded and robust PD programs up to 3 days in length and paid study leave of up to 4 days per year. Plus we have workshops booked in 2024 on DIR, Trauma Informed Care and ASD with Tony Attwood, and we also host regular in-service workshops.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or equivalent and current membership with AHPRA.
  • 3+ years experience as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Demonstrated commitment to family-centred approaches and best practices within the NDIS.
  • Driver's license.
  • Internet access.
  • Successful candidates are required to undertake a Police Check, Working With Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening check.
  • Three Covid-19 vaccinations.
  • Influenza updates are desirable.

Desirable

  • Experience working with compensable and NDIS clients is highly desired but not essential.
  • Experience working with children and young people is advantageous.
