Anglo American Steelmaking Coal
Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.
Moranbah North Underground Mine is excited to announce that our Underground New to Industry Miners Program is now accepting applications for the 2025 intake!
As an Underground New to Industry Miner, you will:
- Be employed on a two (2) year Fixed Term Contract
- Gain a broad understanding of the underground mining process (Longwall, Development and Outbye) as you rotate through the various operational departments.
- Work alongside a range of experienced technical and operational professionals where you will gain experience on a range of underground specific machinery such as Personnel Transporters, loaders and bolters.
- Undertake a Certificate II in Underground Coal Mining Operations.
