The role:

TOMRA are going from strength to strength within Australia and on the back on their continued success they now have an opening for a PMO Manager within the NSW business. This role is pivotal to their continued growth and will lead the NSW PMO, a diverse team of 6 Project Managers and Project Coordinators.

Reporting to the PMO Director, the NSW PMO Manager will lead, grow and manage a team to deliver multiple short-term projects, including new indoor return points, technology installations, and network infrastructure. This role involves being the main point of contact for key internal and external stakeholders, acting as a point of escalation and ensuring expectations are managed. As the state lead for the PMO, the manager provides guidance, support and direction across all installations and site works for the TOMRA network in NSW.

Key responsibilities include construction project management, stakeholder communication, resource allocation, scope control, budget management, contract & lease negotiation, and risk assessment. The Manager coordinates project planning, team resourcing, supply and subcontract management, progress reporting, and problem-solving.

Effective leadership of the NSW PMO Team is essential, encompassing development plan management, acting as a point of escalation, identifying efficiencies, and fostering a supportive and enjoyable team culture.

Fundamentally this is a people leadership role, it is imperative that the successful applicant has a proven track record in managing teams and direct reports, supporting capability uplift and process improvement.

The successful candidate:

The successful candidate for this role will be flexible, and great at multi-tasking. They’ll have amazing stakeholder management skills across all audiences and love a fast-paced environment. Experience working in construction, capital works or a similar related field is a must, as is hand on project management experience to provide guidance & support to the team as needed.

Key accountabilities for the role:

• Lead the NSW PMO Team, take ownership for driving the development and culture of the team. A key part of this role will be looking to uplift the current teams capability, establish processes, structure, and efficiencies to ensure team success.
• Serve as the main contact for the PMO in NSW, liaising with TOMRA partners and key stakeholders.
• Provide project management oversight across the high volume of programs from inception to implementation.
• Demonstrate high-level project management skills with a pragmatic approach to issues.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, partners, suppliers, and contractors.
• Build and lead the team to achieve critical strategic business goals.
• Deliver timely and accurate information and status updates to all key stakeholders, both internal and external.
• Manage project costs, schedules, resources, subcontractor deliverables, and technical performance.
• Develop and maintain key project planning documentation.
• Establish milestones and ensure adherence to master plans and schedules.
• Ensure critical path items for each program are addressed efficiently, and stakeholders are kept informed to ensure project success
• Manage end to end PMO activities
• Resolve technical and non-technical issues throughout the project lifecycle
• A passion for the environment and sustainability

Due to the nature of this role, you will need to travel within NSW on occasion as such a valid Australian drivers, and access to a personal vehicle, is required. To compensate a car allowance will be part of this package.
