NSW State Manager
Our client, a national provider of total freight management solutions, including palletised road transport, B2B break bulk parcel service, temperature control and rail service is looking for an exceptional transport and logistics leader to be their next NSW State Manager. Being a senior logistics professional, you will lead a team of 100+ to help the business deliver on their vision of being recognised as the benchmark national supplier of delivery services.
Reporting to the Executive GM you will be well positioned to assume responsibility for operational, financial and customer service performance throughout your region. You’ll work in partnership with stakeholders to meet the requirements of time critical delivery schedules, solving client’s complex and demanding logistics requirements.
Key responsibilities:
- Strategic, operational and financial responsibility of the NSW branch with a focus on driving improvement and innovation across the network and meeting agreed budgets and business goals, using KPI’s to monitor outcomes.
- Safety first – embed safety as a mindset for everything. Ensure adherence to WHS policies and procedures and make certain your team is equipped with the instruction, training and supervision they need to work safely.
- Provide commercial leadership with responsibility for a significant portfolio of accounts ensuring service delivery is in line with contractual requirements and cost discipline is maintained.
- Lead and facilitate improvement projects which will generate efficiencies, reduce waste, lower operational costs and deliver improved customer satisfaction.
- Champion employee engagement and develop key talent within your team. Promote a culture of open and honest communication, motivation, and empowerment of your staff.
- Provide the mentorship, leadership and training for employees to reach high levels of performance and job satisfaction.
- Strong leadership and management of direct reports and wider workforce across geographically diverse operations.

This is a key role within the business and requires a manager with previous leadership and CI experience across transport and depo operations. You’ll love a challenge and thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
- Experience managing teams 50+.
- Experience managing fleet operations of 60+ vehicles.
- Commercial and operational leadership and decision making within a complex supply chain environment.
- A history of stakeholder engagement and customer relationship management with an ability to build strong relationships across all levels and effectively implement and manage supply contracts.
- Experience leading diverse high-performance teams and driving operational outcomes.
- Thorough understanding of financial drivers, cost control and operational budgeting.
- Excellent organisation, negotiation, change management and time management skills.
- Knowledge of current WHS requirements.
