Bowral Hospital is actively seeking a dynamic Nurse Manager to work within the Clinical Informatics Department.
This pivotal role revolves around leveraging data and cutting-edge technology to oversee systems, programs, and patient care initiatives. What You'll be Doing
The Nurse ManagerGrade 2 - Clinical Informatics is responsible for the leadership and management of the successful implementation, deployment, adoption, maintenance and optimisation opportunities within the eMR systems, whilst assisting to manage key documentation risks across Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital.

You demonstrate initiative, creativity and contribute to our vision of innovative models of care. You will support the SWSLHD Transforming Your Experience strategy to provide an exceptional experience for everyone who interacts with our organization for the provision of safe, high quality care.
This position will work under the direction of the Nurse ManagerClinical Informatics Grade 3, and in the collaboration with the Facility executive, Clinical and administrative staff, and Information technology Services (IC) in assisting with change management and optimisation strategies, support and education, relating to current and future state eMR enhancements, clinical workflows and necessary clinical technological advances.
The role will provide guidance and support to ensure that there is a focus on service development and appropriate oversight of practices, trends and indicators. Ongoing assessment and improvement in operational processes and clinical outcomes is an inherent responsibility of this position.
The Nurse Manager participates in the supervision, coordination and management of the nursing services to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and efficient use of resources. The Nurse/Midwifery Manager is to foster and maintain close professional relationships with relevant clinical managers, peers and District managers to achieve organisational goals.
As a nursing senior manager it is essential to ensure that systems and processes are in place to support the Nursing/Midwifery Unit Managers to meet the standards outlined in the 'Nursing and Midwifery management Framework'.
This position will support the SWSLHD Strategic Plan as well as the facility/service operational and/or clinical service plan and any relevant service operational or strategic plans.

Bowral & District Hospital (B&DH) is a major Rural Hospital which provides a wide range of services, including general medical, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatric, surgical, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, geriatric and emergency services.
Originally founded in 1889, Bowral & District Hospital has been serving the needs of its local population for over a hundred years. From a humble cottage hospital origin, the hospital has grown to a 94-bed facility offering a range of general and specialised services.
Part of the South Western Sydney Local Health District, Bowral has close links with a range of Sydney's teaching and referring hospitals including Liverpool, Fairfield, Bankstown and Campbelltown hospitals.
How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible. * Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.

  • Demonstrated senior nursing experience with experience in leading staff and managing services in a relevant setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership as a resource person and role model in the clinical setting through the development of professional relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the development of procedure and guidelines relating to nursing and midwifery practice and provide leadership and support to staff in the application of subsequent change
  • Demonstrated ability to represent nursing and midwifery and collaborate with staff and other health professionals for the best outcomes for the service.
  • Demonstrated ability to acquire and utilise sound and contemporary knowledge and apply to nursing and midwifery professional practice and management strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess the competence of staff and identify strength and limitations. This includes the facilitation of activities which enhance the staff practice through support of processional development.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to an operation plan for the nursing and midwifery services. This includes supporting organisation change, risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience with project management methodologies that can be used to assist in the implementation and optimisation of clinical information systems. Highly developed skills in data manipulation and analysis.
  • Current unrestricted Australian drivers licence (P2 Licence Acceptable) subject to obtaining NSW drivers licence within 3 months of appointment.
