About Monash Medical Centre Paediatric Emergency Department
The Clayton Paediatric Emergency Department provides tertiary emergency services for paediatric patients across Southeast Melbourne and surrounding regional areas. The Clayton Paediatric Emergency Department is responsible for over 40,000 emergency presentations annually. Once fully commissioned, the Paediatric Emergency department will have 38 treatment spaces, including three resuscitation cubicles, six isolation rooms and a twelve bed Paediatric short stay unit. The Paediatric Emergency department serves as an entry point to our paediatric tertiary level care at the Monash Children’s Hospital and has a diverse range of onsite specialist support services.
About The Role
Monash Health are now hiring a Nurse Manager (NM) a Nurse Manager for the Paediatric Emergency Department
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Operations Emergency and Patient Flow, this exciting new NM role will be responsible for the clinical, operational, and professional nursing outcomes within the Paediatric Emergency Department. With the paediatric and adult emergency departments collocated, the incumbent will work collaboratively with the Nurse Manager, Adult Emergency Department, to influence and lead excellent paediatric and adult patient emergency care. The NM will progress the Paediatric Emergency department nursing workforce strategy guiding professional development and education activities in the department. The NM will be responsible for managing all financial resources within the paediatric department and delivering service improvements and innovations to enhance safe, quality, and timely care. With exceptional communication and proven people management skills, the NM is expected to lead by example and inspire their team to perform at their best whilst working collaboratively with all key departmental and relevant health service stakeholders. The NM is also responsible for proactively driving Monash Health’s Strategic Priorities within their sphere of influence, including the Excellence in Timely care work program to ensure we deliver excellent care for the right patient at the right time in the Paediatric Emergency department.
This is an ongoing full-time opportunity, Monday to Friday
About You
You are dedicated, driven and a leader in Paediatric Emergency Nursing. You are an exceptional manager, an articulate communicator and thrive on challenges and active problem solving. You have previous experience working within a high acuity, Paediatric Emergency setting and truly flourish working in a fast-paced dynamic environment. You are passionate about patient safety and access improvement and are seeking a new opportunity that will enable you to play an instrumental role in driving the operational and performance requirements of the newly defined Paediatric Emergency department.

- A Post Graduate Qualification in Emergency Nursing (Desirable)
- Leadership / Management experience
- Demonstrated Paediatric Emergency Nursing clinical experience
- Current AHPRA registration
