The purpose of this role is to provide advanced clinical expertise and care relevant to effective digital business and clinical practices for the delivery of Clinical Informatics. This role will provide support and system administration functions across multiple clinical applications including ieMR, Q-Flow, Trendcare and Patient Flow Manager, along with developing responses to address emerging service needs in relation to facility and site based Clinical Informatics teams and stakeholders.

Access the
Digital Metro North (DMN) works collaboratively with Metro North Health (MNH) clinical leads and end users to deliver the digital transformation strategy for Metro North Health. It will ultimately create an integrated digital hospital and healthcare environment across Metro North. In meeting this strategy significant capital works are being undertaken over the next five years that includes hospital construction/refurbishment and the implementation of ieMR Advanced solution across Metro North. Delivering this will require a dedicated team, with the capacity to work across initiatives and domains, with the knowledge, determination, skills and experience to deliver.
Together with the requirements of the role description, our ideal candidate will have:
- A qualification and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse (RN)/Midwife. Please note certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to the commencement of employment.
- Possession of a relevant post graduate qualification (i.e., Graduate Certificate, or Graduate Diploma, Master's Degree) or evidence of enrolment in such a program – whilst not mandatory, is highly desirable.
- Have previous experience working in Clinical Informatics, ieMR and/or clinical digital application support – whilst not mandatory, is highly desirable.
The ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Ability to fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) (2015) – Generic Level Statements (GLS) Nurse Grade 7 and the Queensland Health and Metro North Health's commitments and values, in achievement of the organisational goals and Domains of Practice.
- Proof of ability to practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing/midwifery practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
- Provision of leadership within a legal, professional and ethical framework that ensures contemporary consumer/person centred care and staff management practices.
- Collaboration in the application and evaluation of contemporary human, material and financial resource management for the multidisciplinary environment.
- Accountability for promoting effective and cost-efficient management of hospital resources and services in collaboration with the Director of Nursing, Chief Nursing and Midwifery Informatics Officer, Digital Metro North.
- Support of the Nursing Director by identifying opportunities to improve resource use, and work in collaboration with the interprofessional team to implement changes.
