Role Summary: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nurse Practitioner to join our established, and busy orthopaedic practice. Part-time and full-time applicants are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the practice in the provision of safe, empathetic, and timely patient care throughout the patient’s journey, from the first contact, through to consultations, surgeries, rehabilitation, and recovery. Responsibilities:
- Fostering a caring and positive team culture.
- Obtaining accurate patient histories, including details of co-morbidities and medications.
- Pre-operative and post-operative surgical education.
- Education of patients with respect to pain management techniques and use of pain medications.
- Medication prescribing, where appropriate.
- Wound management.
- Assistance with ward rounds, including documentation of same.
- Liaising with hospital staff, surgical assistants, anaesthetists, and physicians to optimise patient care.
- Liaising with GPs and allied health professionals.
- Supporting the practice manager in the maintenance, review and implementation of practice policies and procedures, which enhance patient wellbeing and safety.
- Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with AHPRA guidelines.
- A willingness and desire to be involved and drive innovative projects within the field of orthopaedics.
Requirements:
- AHPRA registration as a registered nurse with endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner. Experience within orthopaedics desirable but not essential.
- A commitment to constantly seeking improvements to the practice to enhance the patient experience.
- Someone who thrives on new challenges and projects.
- Strong IT skills, with high understanding of Microsoft 365 essential.
- Strong communications skills.
