Our dedicated and diverse medical services team provides no cost to the patient access to primary health care focusing on vulnerable Tasmanians, particularly those living in underserved communities and/or experiencing homelessness, through our Day and After Hours Outreach Medical Clinics.

About the role
We seek Nurse Practitioners to work within Moreton Group’s Day and After-Hours Outreach Program, providing clinical care to patients. You will join other Nurse Practitioners and Medical Practitioners who are making a real difference in the lives of Tasmanians. This program is a State and Federal Government supported, walk-in service provided via Tasmania's only mobile clinic that travels to agreed-upon locations and works with identified partnering Community Service Organisations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver clinical care to patients as per their own field of practice and AHPRA registration.
- Engage with patients and stakeholders in a non-judgmental, respectful, and culturally appropriate manner.
- Make referrals in line with patient needs and empower patients to engage with the service for follow-ups.
- Positively represent Moreton Group with Community Sector Organisation Partners and other stakeholders within the sector.
- Support positive patient behaviour management and de-escalation as required.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- An open mind to being part of the primary healthcare solution needed in Tasmania.
- Demonstrated clinical qualification.
- Completion or working towards completion of Nurse Practitioner Candidacy and authority to practice.
- Willingness to support people experiencing homelessness.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Previous experience with Medical Director or Pracsoft or willingness to learn.
- Right to work in Australia.

Successful applicants must:
- Hold current AHPRA registration.
- Hold current professional indemnity insurance.
- Hold a current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration.
- Present a National Police Certificate (no older than 12 months).
- Provide evidence of your COVID-19 vaccinations.
- Hold a current Australian Driver's Licence.
