The Nursing Unit Manager is responsible for the efficient management of the nursing and other relevant staff under their delegation and coordination of the provision of nursing care. The Nursing Unit Manager leads nursing staff, ensures effective liaison between all health professionals and is responsible for the environmental and work, health and safety management of the unit.
Clinician engagement and leadership has been a prominent feature of the public health system for a number of years, where clinician led clinical standards, safety and quality improvements have become a major focus. The LHD is committed to the strengthening and ongoing involvement and clinician engagement of staff that provide direct patient care in the planning, delivery, improvement and evaluation of health services.
If you have:
Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) and post registration management and/or specialty qualification and/or relevant acute clinical management experience
Motivational, leadership, interpersonal and high level communication skills
The ability to effectively lead a nursing team within a multidisciplinary team environment
Highly developed coaching, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
