Council is seeking applications for the position of Planning and Development Administration Assistant to undertake duties as a member of Planning and Development team providing administrative support to the Director and other staff to improve the department’s functionality and achieve its objectives.
The position is twelve (12) month appointment under S.36 (c) Term Contracts of the Award based on 35 hours per week. Additional hours including evenings and weekends may be required under the current Local Government (State) Award 2023. The salary is a rate base of Grade 7, Step 0 $1,117.38 per week to Grade 7 Step 4 $1,296.16 per week.
To be successful you will need:
Essential
• A qualification in Business and minimum 2 years experience in office administration ideally in a local government context
• Excellent verbal communications skills with demonstrated ability to respond appropriately to difficult situations.
• Demonstrated ability to perform computer generated tasks, including Microsoft office, E-Planning Portal, industry specific Planning and Development software programs.
• Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised, meet deadlines, prioritise tasks, assess work
practices and apply continuous improvement strategies.
• Class C drivers license
Desirable:
• Previous experience working in Local Government
• Previous experience working in Planning and Development areas.
