About the Role
We are seeking an initiative-taking and experienced Work Health & Safety Manager to join our senior leadership team. The successful candidate will be WHS qualified with expertise in multi-site management and a proven history in implementing preventative injury strategies.
Duties
- Strategic Influence: Utilise your expertise in Work Health Safety (WHS) to strategically influence organisational decisions and initiatives. Collaborate with senior management to integrate WHS considerations into strategic planning processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential hazards and risks within the organisation. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and enhance workplace safety, contributing to the overall risk management framework.
- Legislative Interpretation: Provide technical guidance and advice on Health and Safety matters by interpreting legislative requirements relevant to the role's scope and responsibilities.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders to promote a collaborative approach to WHS management. Build strong relationships with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and community organisations to enhance the organisation's reputation and influence in the field of workplace safety.
- Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, periodic audits, and site visits to identify and mitigate potential risks. Develop Safe Work Procedures (SWPs) as required to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
