AddressOccuhealth is a fully comprehensive occupational health and hygiene consultancy that has been operating throughout Western Australia for 25 years. Occuhealth specialises in occupational hygiene, respiratory and ear plug fit testing, health surveillance and forensic testing services.
We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Occupational Hygienist or Certified Occupational Hygienist who believes in our mission of creating healthier workplaces. The individual will be responsible for ensuring the health of our clients through the delivery of professional hygiene monitoring programs. The Hygienist will help facilitate and deliver expert advice on health management plans, risk assessments, noise, dust, radiation and ventilation surveys along with ensuring compliance with legislation and organisational requirements.
This role will undertake a mixture of projects in FIFO and DIDO locations, local remote work (day work on site in the greater Perth region or beyond) and work from our Belmont and / or Mandurah offices.
Role Requirements:
• Tertiary Qualification in Occupational Hygiene, Health, Safety, Science or Environmental related fields
• Minimum of 5 years work experience in Occupational Health and Hygiene in mining, oil and gas or similar industries
• Mine Air Quality Technician or Officer (formerly Surface Ventilation Technician) Qualification.
• Noise Officer qualification
• Excellent knowledge of both federal and state legislation, codes of practice, standards and guidelines
• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills – verbal and written
• Full Member of the AIOH preferred.
• Ability to use experience and knowledge to interpret data / find practical solutions
• Provide expert Occupational Hygiene knowledge and advice
• Conduct workplace exposure monitoring for physical, biological and chemical hazards
• Experience working within the Work Health & Safety Act 2022 and Work Health & Safety Regulations (Mines) 2022.
• Experience working with DMIRS SRS portal and preparation of health management plans and risk assessments.
• Good project management skills, with the ability to engage successfully with both workers and managers
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
