We offer a broad range of services, including residential care facilities, transition care programs, retirement living villages, home care, day care, respite, and dementia specific services. ABOUT THE ROLE
We are currently seeking applications from experienced Occupational Therapists for our Kinross facility. This role is offered on a permanent part time basis – 30.4hrs per fortnight.
Weeks 1 & 2:
Monday 0800-1615
Tuesday 0800-1615
Please note, you must be able to commit to all days/shifts to be considered.
Key responsibilities:
Complete, interpret and analyse, assessment information on physical and mental function, relating to client occupation (inclusive of activities of daily living, sensorimotor function, community access, social and leisure)
Consult on the selection of aids and equipment for specific and general use, in the home and in the facility
Conduct OT Home Assessments as indicated and completes reports and disseminates as required. Provide advice and recommendations on home modifications that will enhance care recipients independence
Formulate treatment objectives for the purpose of restoration or maintenance of function
Frequently review treatment objectives to ensure their continued application.
Implement and/or delegate treatment programs to address problems of activities of daily living, and sensorimotor function
Record treatment results and disseminates information to all relevant personnel
Provide education to the family carer to enable them to manage more effectively in the home environment
Order materials and supplies in conjunction with Service/Centre Operations Manager.
Ensure maintenance and economic and safe use of all resources and equipment.
Provide mentoring, supervision and support to therapy staff
Comply with Amana Living policies and procedures and contributes to continuous improvement practices
Ensure all members of the team actively demonstrate and promote AL’s philosophy of care and organisational culture in all activities
Essential Criteria
Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent with registration
Experience working with residents living with dementia
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Knowledge of the resident classification scale, accreditation and continuous improvement
High level communication and consultation skills
Well-developed computer skills
Valid Police Clearance less than 6 months old (or ability to obtain at interview stage)
Successful completion of pre medical form and reference checks
Evidence of Flu (2023) and COVID Vaccinations (including Booster if eligible)
NDIS Screening or willing to obtain
Willingness to attend a paid 5 day induction (Monday – Friday) at our Rivervale Training Institute.
