About the Opportunity
Camden Hospital's Mental Health Inpatient Unit is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to become an integral team member to assist the team in delivering high quality care to patients and their families.
This position demands a commitment to providing a high-calibre occupational therapy service that ensures optimal health outcomes for clients. Balancing clinical and administrative responsibilities, the therapist will work within a multi-disciplinary team and undertake assessment, treatment planning, implementation, evaluation, and patient/client transition processes.
The job entails the application of evidence-based practices across diverse clinical scenarios within specified time frames, emphasising a proactive approach to prioritise and manage various demands effectively.
Collaboration within a multidisciplinary team is pivotal, requiring both independent work and seamless integration within the group.
The ideal candidate showcases a dedication to ongoing professional development, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement, leveraging strong communication skills—both written and verbal—to interact proficiently with patients.
We are looking for an Occupational Therapist with a demonstrated background in Mental Health and an ability to navigate the complexities of this specialised field, ensuring a high standard of care for those in need.

What You'll be Doing
Provide a high quality occupational therapy service to clients and their families/carers to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes for the clients of the service. This encompasses ensuring effective and efficient entry, assessment, treatment planning, treatment implementation, evaluation and separation of patients/clients in a multi-disciplinary setting. The Occupational Therapist is also responsible for undertaking designated administrative tasks necessary to support service delivery.

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible. * Recognised Degree in Occupational Therapy or other qualification deemed appropriate by the employer, with registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy in a range of programs
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional education.
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in Mental Health.
