Job description

The Occupational Therapy Department located at Townsville University Hospital are seeking motivated and client focused Occupational Therapists to join their team. There are two (2) permanent full-time roles and two (2) temporary full-time roles, up to 12 months.

As a rotational Occupational Therapist, you will be delivering Occupational Therapy clinical services as a member of a multidisciplinary team to stakeholders/customers of Queensland Health.

Townsville Hospital and Health Service is the public healthcare provider for more than 250,000 people across a geographic area of 150,000km2, delivering a comprehensive range of services across 21 facilities, from primary care in regional locations to highly specialised care at the main hospital.

Eligible Health Workers who move to Queensland from interstate and international jurisdictions to take up permanent employment may receive up to $20,000 in incentive payments under the   Queensland Health Attraction Incentive Scheme ( https://www.careers.health.qld.gov.au/working-for-us/workforce-attraction-incentive-scheme ) 

The Opportunity   You will have the opportunity to work in a variety of caseloads including Medical, Surgical, Palliative Care, Oncology, Paediatrics, Rehabilitation, Community Rehabilitation and Pain Management Service delivering base level of Occupational Therapy clinical services within a specific work unit. Occuptational Therapists work as a member of a multidisciplinary team. The role is required to provide effective and efficient Occupational Therapy interventions for patients in accordance with the goals, policies and requirements of the Occupational Therapy service within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (HHS).

Role requirements  

  • The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Occupational Therapy, and current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
  • Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
  • Roster: This position is required to work on weekends and public holidays on a rostered basis through the Department's Weekend Service.

Generous remuneration package value up to $132,730 p.a.comprising:

  • Salary rates between $2941.70 - $4459.00 p.f. (HP3)
  • Annual leave loading + leave
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
