Qualifications & experience

• Experience working with children and building relationships with children will be highly regarded.

Tasks & responsibilities

• To provide Occupational Therapy interventions to children aged between 3 and 18 years of age.
• The responsibility for the treatment program would lay with the qualified health professional (occupational therapist) and the assistant would run the session as advised by the qualified therapist.
• Working a full-time position of 37.5 hours per week you would have a caseload of 4 clients per day / 20 clients per week. Each therapy session lasts 60 minutes usually.
• The Occupational Therapist will build rapport, trust and a good working relationship with the child and their caregivers.
• Sessions can occur in clinic, at home or in the community.
• The Occupational Therapy Assistant would have regular access to working from home opportunities throughout the day completing session planning, session notes, case related administration and team meeting attendance virtually.
• Dedication, commitment and professionalism is a must when working with children who have additional needs.
• Full drivers licence and own vehicle are essential
