This is a fulltime position, with working days between Wednesday & Saturday.
Availability for Saturday work is essential.
Overview
- The PVTA Office Manager is employed by the Parap Village Traders Association to manage the daily operations of the PVTA business and to co-ordinate the Saturday Market. It is the PVTA Office Manager who represents the Traders Association when dealing with internal and external stakeholders, including Government and local Council. The Office Manager upholds the policies created by the PVTA and advises on issues in the Market and looks to the future for ongoing strategies to development the Market.
- The PVTA Office Manager also focuses on the development of the Shopping Village, is a central contact point for Village business and has a directed role in organising aspects of the Association’s responsibilities.
- Responsibilities & Duties Include (but are not limited to):
- Co-ordinate market stalls including product approval
- Staffing requirements, employment, training and rosters
- Enforcing of Market Rules & Regulations
- Maintain & regulate all market property
- Work according to the Market Operations Manual
- Work within Association Guidelines, Policies, Procedures & Directions
- Customer service (in person, over the phone and via internet)
- General office administration & data entry
- Committee liaison & assistance including monthly meetings & AGM
- Assist with implementing advice from City of Darwin, Stakeholders & Public Bodies
- Marketing & promotion including advertising & social media
- Create & present new ideas/improvements
Selection Criteria:
Experience required:
- Co-ordination of similar operation or significant project management
- Staff management - supervision, rostering, training
- Working within relevant rules, procedures, legislation, insurance requirements
- Liaison with important stakeholders
- Financial – documentation, grant application/acquittal (highly desirable)
- Meetings – agenda, minutes, reports, AGM
- Marketing & Promotion – all media
- Continuous improvement
Skills required:
- Well organised and have attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise and multi-task
- Excellent Communication – written, verbal, positive dealing with the public, great customer service
- Negotiation – dispute resolution
- Administration – record keeping, correspondence, equipment management
- Computer literate including desktop publishing & social media

Salary Range: $65K - $70K plus statutory superannuation guarantee
