- PT (0.6 EFT) – 22-month contract, starting August 2024
- Salary Range: $90,000 to $95,000 pro rata plus 11% superannuation

Position Summary:
As a member of the Project Delivery Team, this role will support ELAA’s strategic goals by overseeing the delivery of an innovative project exploring avenues to improve the OHS outcomes in the early childhood education and care (ECEC) sector.

About the project:
Improving Pathways for HSRs in the ECEC Sector (IPHECS)
ELAA is currently undertaking a two-year project aimed at enhancing the OHS outcomes for the ECEC sector. This includes exploring the role and support of health and safety representatives (HSRs) and aims to demonstrate the value of HSR engagement, showcasing their role in supporting retention and wellbeing for the ECEC workforce.
This project aligns to ELAA's vision of excellence and equity in early childhood education and care.
About the role:
The OHSProject Officeris a newly created role, reporting to the OHS Project Manager, to support the delivery of major project activities. Deliverables that fall within this role include: a series of OHS Forums; an action research project with ECEC services to address site specific OHS issues; collaborating with project partners to conduct research and evaluation; and develop resources showcasing effective HSR mechanisms identified through project.
Key Selection Criteria:
Key to your success in this role will include experience in a similar role, especially if this were within the early childhood, community or not-for-profit sectors.
Knowledge and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in OHS (or currently undertaking). ECEC qualifications will be considered favourably.
- Highly developed facilitation skills and understanding of contemporary OHS practices to support the engagement of participants in key project activities
- Demonstrated understanding of OHS practices within early childhood education services or similar settings
- Experience working in NFP, charity or similar community-based organisations

- Excellent interpersonal and group facilitation skills
- Advanced written communication skills, editing and attention to detail
- Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Able to work independently and with direction as required
- A team player that can work collaboratively and build relationships with a variety of stakeholders
- An inquisitive and positive mindset with a desire to continuously improve
