Constantly raising the bar, we employ over 250 dedicated staff, supporting young people in out-of-home care in our residential homes located in North Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay regions. 

Thrive House works to support young people in Out-Of-Home care as well as adults and young people who have a disability. About the role:

BECOME AN OPERATIONAL ADMINISTRATION OFFICER (ROSTERING)

The Operational Administration Officer (Rostering) will provide rostering support to our frontline staff during business hours and rostering and after hours support as the first point of contact out of business hours. The After-hours support team assists our front-line workers with general rostering, unplanned leave and all emergencies outside of business hours.  

Required availability: This position requires availability on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesday's and Fridays. Specific shift times and availability will be discussed with the candidates during interview.  You may also be required to work weekends from time-to-time to provide adequate coverage during periods of leave. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Fill unplanned leave and emergency shift with our current qualified staff during and after business hours. 
  • General day to day rostering during business hours.
  • Assisting with emergency intakes. 
  • Assisting frontline staff with support during emergency situations by providing logical and therapeutic support and advice out-side of business hours.
  • Maintaining detailed and accurate log of calls received.
  • Escalating reportable incidents through the appropriate channels in a timely manner. 
  • Provide opportunity for debriefing after incident or when requested.
  • Comply with all health and safety legislation and licensing guidelines.

This role also requires ad hoc administration support such as covering the office reception, meeting and greeting visitors and general office maintenance and tidying. 
 

What we are looking for 

  • Previous rostering experience within a similar industry. (highly desirable)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Develop and maintain staff rosters according to operational requirements and employee availability.
  • Previous knowledge and experience working within both Child Safety sectors and NDIS sectors (desirable)
  • Someone who is confident in responding to and supporting during critical category 1 & 2 incidents. (We can provide training for this)
  • Ability to make decisions and communicate these decisions effectively to employees.
  • Experience providing support under a therapeutic crisis intervention (TCI) model. (desirable however, training provided)
  • Someone who is resilient, caring and passionate about providing quality support and advice.
  • Strong organisational skills, the ability to successfully complete several tasks concurrently, maintaining high levels of attention to detail whilst meeting deadlines.
  • Utilise rostering software and systems to optimise scheduling processes and maintain accurate records.
  • You are strong and can persevere in challenging situations.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of team in a dynamic work environment. 
  • You are eligible to work in Australia.
  • You hold a current driver’s licence and are eligible to obtain an LCS check, blue card and yellow card.
  • Hold a current ‘C’ class driver’s license. 
  • Hold, or be eligible to apply for, a Blue Card issued by the Queensland Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian. 
  • Hold or be eligible to apply for an Application for Suitability Check by the Queensland Department of Child Safety.
