Visit usAbout Your RoleThis role is responsible for assisting the Director of Nursing & Midwifery in relation to nursing and midwifery professional and clinical practice issues, including:
- The monitoring and maintenance of professional and nation registration standards to achieve improved patient safety and quality of care.
- Ensuring the nursing workforce is adequate to provide nursing staff to all Wards and Units.
- Ensuring that the quality of nursing/midwifery services meets contemporary and policy requirements.
- Attend and contribute to Service Committees as required.
- Participate in the Accreditation process within the area of accountability and ensure that systems are in place to meet all required standards.
- Promote an atmosphere which is conducive to learning and safety for patients and staff.
- Maintain an active involvement in professional organisations.
- Ensure strict confidentiality is maintained in relation to all patient, staff, workplace and matters.
- Implement the principles of cultural diversity in the workplace by ensuring services within the area of responsibility are accessible and culturally appropriate to consumers.
- Sets annual goals for role in conjunction with the Director of Nursing and Midwifery.
- Participate in monthly accountability meetings and associated reporting processes.
