Operational Support Engineer
(Please note: this role is only open to candidates who are already based in Brisbane with Australian citizenship or permanent residency- please do not apply if you do not qualify as these are the prerequisites).
Our client is looking for an Operational Support Engineer for their Digital Technology Team. As an Operational Support Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting applications, ancillary software, hardware, and emerging technology initiatives. Your focus will be on achieving operational excellence, fostering a customer-first culture, and ensuring consistency across the Technology business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 2nd level technical support with a focus on customer service and effective issue resolution.
- Analyze and debug complex technical issues promptly to minimize service restoration delays.
- Continuously improve and streamline processes to achieve operational excellence.
- Take ownership of assigned investigations, driving them to resolution and documenting the process.
- Ensure the delivery of quality products by implementing code peer review, unit testing, and other techniques.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of standards, procedures, and methodologies to enhance the product delivery lifecycle.
Qualifications:
- Accredited tertiary qualifications in technology.
- Industry certifications in ITIL service management.
Experience:
- 2+ years' work experience within a complex application development and support environment.
- Experience with any programming languages (Java, C#, Python, C, etc)- able to look at code and assess it
- Splunk or Kabana
- Acima, AWS learnings, New Relic at front end, Jira Confluence (Desired qualities)
- Secure knowledge of structured application development techniques.
- Good understanding of the IT&T industry, as well as technology trends and related practices.
- Demonstrated experience in agile ways of working and the ability to drive adoption within a team.
- Proven experience in developing and maintaining strong relationships across teams.
