About you:
- Understanding of Defence structures, concept and doctrine as well as the operational employment of defence assets
- Familiarity with Operations Analysis/Operations Research including understanding customer needs and formulating them into a comprehensive problem statement for required analyses
- Extensive experience with modelling and simulation including conducting trade studies and Monte Carlo replications across a spectrum from Effects-based to Physics-based tools
- Analysis skills with an ability to develop and evaluate alternatives to determine best value based on customer-provided performance weightings
- Significant level of proficiency in operational analysis methodologies, concepts and applications
- Understanding and familiarity with DODAF/AUSDAF related to Operations Analysis
- Significant level of proficiency in concept development

Your responsibilities will include:
This role will see you working on a range of bids, proposals and internal Research & Development projects. Your day to day tasks will include but not limited to:
- Maintaining an understanding and appreciation of a broad range of relevant topics of national and international importance including defence policy, threats, doctrine, and operational concepts
- Models and simulates operations using advanced visualization tools, threat models and command and control models to perform operations analysis and mission effectiveness
- Provides a quantitative, rational basis for decision making through the application of logic and scientific disciplines and techniques including mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, operational mathematics techniques (linear programming, game theory, probability theory, symbolic language, etc.), and other principles and laws of scientific disciplines
- Work with stakeholders to understand current operational scenarios and requirements
- Define operational scenarios and requirements based on the function of the new system(s)
- Supports the translation of operational scenarios and requirements into conceptual designs
- Implement conceptual designs to facilitate the conduct of defence experimentation and wargames
- Trace system function and design back to operational scenarios and requirements to ensure customer goals and objectives have been met
