Due to continued growth in Sydney and Brisbane, an exciting opportunity exists for an energetic, self-motivated and experienced Operations / Commercial Manager who wants to develop their career.
Reporting to the State Manager, this business-critical position will take full responsibility for the commercial operations of the state. You will assist in the leadership and management across all teams including Transport, Depot and Warehousing. You will have demonstrated and proven experience in driving continuous improvement, building strong internal and external relationships, as well as delivering the results that allow continued growth within our business.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Develop and implement ongoing operational processes and practices.
- Direct and oversee the planning, organising and budgeting of the FAK, Transport, Depot and Warehousing divisions.
- Monitor the daily operations to ensure that managers and their team comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, union contracts, and government regulations.
- Support the Managers in the business to develop and implement best practice processes and controls in the business including introducing Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma initiatives.
- Implement initiatives to ensure cost containment, maximising profit and achieving budgets.
- Ensure the facility is operated, maintained and secured in accordance with ACFS service standards and operating policies and procedures.
- Supervision of labour & equipment.
- New Business and Customer Service – promote and assist in new customer acquisition and partnership and grow revenue and maintain existing customer relationships.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience as a Depot / Terminal Manager / Warehouse or Transport Manager
- Ability to drive and achieve financial and operational targets.
- Strong communication (written and verbal)
- Able to lead and develop a team through influence.
- Planning and organisational skills
- Attention to detail.
- Demonstrated Leadership qualities with a "hands on" approach.
- Sound administration and organisational skills.
- Ability to understand and meet KPI requirements.
- Intermediate computer literacy skills.
