With a history of over 160 years in the Australian and New Zealand sugar industries, Wilmar Sugar Australia operations span the value chain from sugar cane growing, sugar manufacturing, refining, exporting, and marketing, to the production of renewable electricity, ethanol, and sustainable agricultural products.
To be more specific, Wilmar manufactures over half of Australia's raw sugar, and each year exports enough electricity to power more than 68,000 Australian homes for 12 months. As well as supplying ethanol (ethyl alcohol) to the growing fuel market in Australia, Wilmar also supplies a significant market share to various industries including the pharmaceutical, printing, cleaning, winery, aerosol, animal health and food and beverage industries.
Job Vacancy
We are currently seeking an Operations Coordinator on a Fixed Term basis to join our team at Macknade Mill for the 2024 crushing season. This role requires shift work during the crushing season on a 12-hour rotational roster. Weekends and some overtime will be required.

Responsibilities of the role will include:
- Monitoring production performance indicators including process quality indicators and down time. Report on deviations and major downtime through shift logs and 5Y's process
- Establishing and managing any necessary action plan to improve product flow, stock level, quality, break downs and efficiency of the production process.
- Leading, directing and motivating a team comprised of maintenance personnel, operators and lab personnel
- Managing and documenting the performance of direct reports (including time, attendance, absenteeism, coaching/mentoring, training initiatives, and performance reviews)
- Being a leader of the Notification procedure onsite, including notification SAP entry and quality control of notifications

Something about you
The ideal candidate for this role should hold tertiary or Trade Qualifications in Chemical or Mechanical disciplines, or relevant practical experience at a Sugar Mill. A thorough understanding of Sugar Mill plant, maintenance and operations, or a heavy industrial environment is imperative.
