In this role, you'll:
- Be working as part of a team this role is responsible for operating a range of network and tunnel management systems; and coordinating responses to planned events and unplanned incidents to optimise the customer experience when travelling on the State transport network in Regional and Outer Metropolitan NSW.
- It has a close relationship with the Transport Management Centre’s traffic operations room while focusing on the achievement of team’s goals and objectives.
- This role will see you influence and make a long-term impact on improving the regional road experience.
- You will monitor, identify and assess unusual congestion and delays, including any impacts to transport corridors or routes.
- You will operate control systems for the State network (traffic and tunnel) in regional NSW, including tunnel ventilation, power, fire and drainage systems, and network management devices, such as variable message signs, variable speed limit signs and lane use management signs, to optimise the customer journey experience.
Please note you will be required to work in a 24x7 roster within a control room environment.
This is a fixed term full-time opportunity up to 15 September 2024 (with possibility of extension) based at McLeods Shoot (Byron Bay).

About you
You have the ability to support the management of unplanned incidents, including evaluating and reporting on outcomes, engaging with high-profile stakeholders, and managing tight deadlines and high-pressure situations.
You have experience in coordinating with professionals across levels and divisions and with a proven ability to exercise sound judgement, risk mitigation and problem-solving in a transport and tunnel environment.
You are a self-driven and results oriented and focused professional with the ability to collaborate.
If you have experience in network management and computerised electronic traffic and transport systems, together with a sound understanding of network management, along with effective communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills, this is the right career opportunity for you.
