Job Description
About the Role
The purpose of this role is to plan, coordinate, and execute Engineering activities / projects in the wider manufacturing environment. The Operations Engineer will protect and promote the flow of materials and relevant information aiming at uninterrupted operations. The main responsibilities are broad allowing objectives covering Health and Safety, Quality & Compliance, Delivery and Customer Service as well as Cost and Financial Performance to be achieved.
The Operations Engineer will continuously monitor and review production performance and offer activities / projects to eliminate Wastes or MUDAs. As a result, you will work closely with production and maintenance leaders and their teams.
Being expert in the constraints of technology and work processes on the production floor, you will also work closely with the Product Development team being the voice of production to achieve the best Design for Manufacture and Assembly of new products to be introduced.
The Operations Engineer will be familiar with a variety of engineering concepts, practices, and processes with a command of Lean Manufacturing, Problem Solving (6Sigma) and Project Management techniques. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected, combined with self-starter and team player attributes.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Education equivalent to a bachelor from an accredited college or university Major in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, and/or Mechanical.
- 3-5yrs of industrial experience.
- HVAC experience in a commercial space
- Accredited member of Australian Engineers.
- Assembly line and automation experience.
- LEAN / Continuous Improvement practical experience.
