Today and Tomorrow YOUR OPPORTUNITY We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations Engineer to join our Preventions team, based in our office at Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. The Preventions team is part of the Operations and Maintenance Planning group.
The Operations and Maintenance Planning Group is accountable for the performance and optimisation of Urban Utilities Water and Wastewater Networks to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction is delivered to over 600,000 properties and 1.3 million of customers within Urban Utilities service regions. The Preventions team is accountable for reducing service risk and preventing service failures by: Developing automated data surveillance tools and business processes Delivering the Preventions Process to identify network process deviations and plan corrective actions The Preventions Process uses data surveillance to identify when a network process variable deviates from an optimised state and takes actions to correct the deviation, thereby avoiding system failures, water quality issues and unnecessary customer impacts.
This is to ensure the safety of our staff and our customers, protect public health, deliver an exceptional customer experience, minimise operational costs and comply with our regulatory obligations. Reporting to the Preventions team leader, our Operations Engineers provide technical engineering services to prevent service risk and performance loss by: Developing automated process surveillance tools and completing the Preventions Process Continually improving team knowledge, processes and surveillance tools Expanding the team’s technical knowledge, including coaching and training technical officers and level 1 engineers Solving technical problems and engineering issues across Operations and Maintenance Planning group Service Delivery - Engineer Operations & Maintenance Planning Level 1 – 2824.1 - 20231211.pdf ABOUT YOU Bachelor of Engineering from a recognised institution Proven experience in the field of Water and waste water Proven technical experience in operational, maintenance and/or reliability engineering. Proven experience in providing technical support and experience that contributes to effective operational and asset management outcomes.
Proven experience in developing, managing and maintaining effective strategic stakeholder relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Experience or qualifications in data science, operational automation of the business process and within OT systems would be highly regarded Demonstrated experience in lean six sigma would be highly regarded.
