Operations Leader - Aami Park (Contract)

About the role

We're looking for a driven Operations Leader who is ready to challenge themselves in the world of major events, and work alongside some of Australia's most experienced venue managers. The Operations Leader overseas the coordination and delivery of multiple operational functions for events at AAMI Park, as well as our Stadium tenants and other business projects.

Reporting to the Stadium Operations Manager in this 5 month fixed term contract position, this role works in partnership with the Venue Management Team to plan and deliver events to achieve our clients' objectives.

This will involve coordinating multiple stakeholders across various areas including:

• Tenants and Clients (professional sporting organisations, national tournament organisers & event managers, sporting event & concert promoters)
  
• Melbourne & Olympic Park business partners (including workforce, horticulture, ticketing, IT & AV, catering and cleaning)
  
• Suppliers (signage, temporary infrastructure, facilities & maintenance services)

During events the Operations Leader is responsible for the delivery of multiple functions within the back of house environment including operational excellence, planning and risk management, safety and venue presentation.

The Operations Leader will guide and develop our Operations Supervisors across all our events at the Stadium and work closely with our Stadium tenants to deliver on their day-to-day objectives.

Some of the things our Operations Leaders have been doing recently include:

• Worked closely in collaboration with the Venue Management team on the planning and delivery of FIFA Womens World Cup 2023, where the stadium hosted six matches, plus fan viewing live sites.
  
• Plan and deliver the operational functions of over 75 sporting events, including international fixtures for Matildas, Socceroos, Wallabies, as well as NRL and A-League finals.
  
• Develop and lead operational planning for six sold out stadium concert events for artist such as Foo Fighters, Elton John & Robbie Williams.
  
• Grow and manage stakeholder relationships with our sporting tenants to support their daily high-performance training requirements.
  
• Contribute to key venue projects including delivery of signage installations, facilities renovations and functional improvements.

What you will bring to the role:

• Operational expertise in an event or venue environment with a strong focus on operational planning and delivery.
  
• Demonstrated experience as a team leader with a knack for getting the best performance from your team.
  

• Talented at managing multiple, often competing, demands effectively and remaining calm in high pressure situations.
  
• A high level of organisational skills with proficiency in planning systems and tools (i.e.. EBMS, MS Office Suite).
  

Desirable

• Tertiary qualifications in applicable areas and evidence of ongoing learning and development in venue or event management.
