Crawfords Freightlines are looking for an experienced and hands on Operations Manager to lead our dynamic team at our growing Werris Creek depot.
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations and compliance of our Werris Creek yard. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all departments are working efficiently and effectively to meet the company's goals and objectives. The Operations Manager will work closely with Managers/Team Leaders to develop and implement strategies that improve productivity and increase profitability while modelling a positive safety culture.
Responsibilities:
- Revise and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure the smooth and safe running of the depot.
- Oversee pre-start meetings, undertake risk assessments, assist in preparation of incident investigations, audit and compliance requirements.
- Work closely with Managers/Team Leaders to develop and implement strategies that improve productivity (including monitoring of rosters, Time & Attendance), reduce costs, and increase profitability.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Onboard and develop employees, provide coaching and mentoring to ensure safety and high performance.
Qualifications:
- A background in supply chain, logistics, manufacturing or industrial environments, or a related field.
- Previous exposure to exporting, Biosecurity or the Agricultural sector would be highly desirable.
- Proven experience as an Operations Manager or similar role.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Knowledge of WHS, relevant regulations and standards.
- Cert IV Trainer and Assessor, Collect specimens for Drugs of Abuse, Return to Work Coordinator training and Incident investigation qualifications highly desired.
