- Part-time role, 25–30 hours per week
- Remuneration: Pro rata for part-time @ either Level 5 ($93,859) or Level 6 ($102,546), MA00100 Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (plus superannuation). Pro-rata for part time hours and dependent on previous experience.

We are on the lookout for an experienced manager with a passion for the work we do, outstanding interpersonal skills, and the ability to juggle competing priorities effectively, with a willingness to jump in and get your hands dirty when needed. This role will have overall responsibility for the management of the Roundabout Canberra warehouse, occupational health and safety and our Volunteer Program.
The Operations Manager reports directly to the CEO of Roundabout Canberra and will manage the positions of Operations Coordinator/s and Volunteer Coordinator/s (both job-shared). The Operations Manager will work closely with the Social Services Manager.
The role is part-time, working between 25 and 30 hours per week. The location of work is the Roundabout Canberra premises in Holt, ACT. The structure and days of work are flexible and subject to agreement, but ideally you will work across 4-5 days, including Mondays and Fridays.

- Oversight and management of both the Volunteer Program, comprising 250 active volunteers; and the Roundabout Canberra warehouse, with a particular focus on occupational health and safety and a strong focus on waste minimisation.
- Lead and develop small team of paid staff and ensure strong connectivity across different streams of work.
- Management of the flow of stock and donations, with support of Operations Coordinators, including the management of existing donation partnerships and identification of solutions for excess or insufficient stock levels.
- Compliance with and responsibility for a range of safety and security policies and procedures.
- Overall responsibility for the quality and safety of all donated items, product recalls and training of volunteers in relation to safety and quality of donations.
- Management of Volunteer Program, including volunteer communications, with support from Volunteer Coordinator/s, ensuring that volunteers receive a consistent, professional and enjoyable experience throughout their journey with Roundabout Canberra, while balancing the operational needs of the organisation.
- Utilise CRM ICT solution (Salesforce) for all volunteer management and inventory management.
- Support the CEO with briefs and reporting required for partners, Government, the Board and any other purposes.
To be considered for this position, you will possess:
- A passion for leading and supporting people, and the ability to work with a diverse range of staff and volunteers.
- Previous management experience – would suit someone with retail or warehouse management experience.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, with demonstrated success building and maintaining relationships internally and externally, with a diverse range of individuals.
- Capacity to take initiative and think laterally to achieve goals and find solutions to problems.
- Ability to work under pressure and react to changes in the environment.
- Organised and detail oriented, with strong administrative support skills.
- Eager to work as part of a team and share information and expertise.
- Strong written communication abilities.
- Willingness to utilise new platforms and systems.
- Experience in using Salesforce or similar CRM database.
- Retail/warehouse management experience.
- Customer service background.
