Who we are looking for
To support our long-term strategy and new contracts throughout Australia, we are seeking an Operations Manager to take responsibility for delivery of all sales and operational activities throughout the business. You may be required to support projects in various locations from time to time so an ability to travel is an important part of the role.
Reporting to the Managing Director and supported by our existing commercial and operations teams, you will have at least 10 years of experience supplying labour and equipment solutions to shutdowns and major projects.
You will have a technical background, be a proven leader of technical trade based teams in both site and workshop environments, have project management experience and preferably be familiar with either power generation products, welding technologies or site labour solutions.
You must thrive in a fast-pace environment and be available to work project specific work patterns (60 hour weeks) at various times each year.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspired Leadership, mentoring and development of Renteca’s team
- Be responsible for overall business performance and operational execution of all operational activities
- Identification and development of opportunities with new and existing accounts alongside the Solutions and Business Development team.
- Overall responsibility for the operating budget and strategy
- Provide hands on support when necessary, in the various East Coast Branches (admin, procurement, sales, engineering)
- Major customer management
- Manage all client relationships with respect to service delivery (quality, cost, safety, schedule)
- Development of improved operational procedures and processes
- Develop and implement standards, processes, tools, measures, and metrics in relation to our operational capability and ensure that these are documented in our quality system.
- Skills/Knowledge/Behaviours
- Strong leadership capability including proven experience managing electrical or mechanical trades.
- An understanding our core capability, i.e. welding and power generation products and associated services.
- Able to constructively manage performance and objectives.
- Ability to identify and manage risks and have a strong working understanding of relevant electrical, mining and construction standards with respect to welding and power generation products.
- An understanding of the commercial drivers associated with the delivery of on-site electrical and welding equipment services.
- Proven experience in managing complex project supply contracts incorporating welding and power generation products in the power, mining and construction industries.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills
- Experience in delivering equipment support services to major projects and shutdowns.
- Preferably qualifications in electrical power generation and or welding equipment technologies.
- High energy, tenacious attitude and a drive to succeed
- An aptitude for technical and capital sales
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to express complex solutions in clear language
- An ability to proactively see the opportunity to upsell, cross sell and sale of value adding products.
- Discipline to manage your own time and travel commitments– this is an autonomous role
