We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Operations Manager to join our team at the Shire of Derby/West Kimberley. As the Operations Manager for Derby West Kimberley, you will play a vital role contributing to the efficient and effective delivery of essential services to our community. **Key Responsibilities:**

• Oversee and manage all operational activities within the Derby West Kimberley area, ensuring adherence to organisational policies and procedures.
• Lead and supervise a team of staff, providing guidance, support, and motivation to ensure high performance and productivity.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimise operational processes and resource allocation, aiming for continuous improvement and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate various projects, events, and initiatives that contribute to the overall community development goals.
• Monitor and evaluate operational performance through regular assessment of key performance indicators (KPIs) and take proactive measures to address any areas of concern.
• Establish strong relationships with stakeholders, including community members, contractors, suppliers, and relevant authorities to foster effective communication channels.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all operational activities, promoting a culture of safety awareness and risk management.

• Proven experience in operations management within a community or similar setting
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse team effectively
• Strong understanding of budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
• Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices
• Ability to develop and implement operational plans and strategies to achieve organisational objectives
• Experience in project management and delivery, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met
• Analytical mindset with the capability to problem-solve and make data-driven decisions
• A proactive approach to identifying areas for improvement and implementing operational efficiencies
