L&D Earthmoving Ltd is Queensland’s longest standing Earthmoving company, that has been servicing the Southeast corner of Queensland since 1954, twenty-four hours a day, 7 days a week.
With an impressive fleet of machinery (including: excavators of all sizes, skid steer loaders, drotts, water trucks, vacuum trucks, tippers, etc), L&D is able to service all types of construction activity, including; Road & Rail Maintenance, Property Development, Commercial & Residential Constructions, Plumbing, Electrical, Council and Landscaping activities.
With the Skills, Experience and Range of Earthmoving Equipment to hand, L&D is able to supply Wet Hire Machinery to customers, anytime, anyplace, any task.
About the Role:
L&D has achieved great success over the past few years, and now seeks to employ an Operations Manager of outstanding skills, knowledge, and experience – to take us to the next level.
In this role, you will:
- manage the overall operations of the business and be responsible for the effective and successful management of staff, productivity, quality control and safety requirements.
- serve as the company representative, on regulatory issues.
- enhance the operational systems and procedures in the areas of information flow, business processes and reporting, and look for opportunities of the company, wherever possible.
- carry out supervisory responsibilities, in accordance with the company's policies and procedures.
- be responsible for; interviewing, selection and employing new staff; training new and existing staff; planning, assigning and directing work; conducting employee performance appraisals; and the addressing of employee performance and corrective action plans, as required.
- work closely with and report directly to, the board of 5 directors (of a public company).
Holding a business degree will be advantageous, however holding significant knowledge and experience in Earthmoving Wet Hire (of at least 4 years) will be essential.
Tendering experience, will be looked upon favorably.
Key Skills & Responsibilities:
In this role, there will be an expectation that you:
- are familiar with earthmoving allocations and compliance (including: SWMS, Risk Assessments, WET & SARC Training, QR Inductions, etc).
- lead and direct the work of others.
- can think laterally and solve allocation, customer and operator issues, as required.
- can analyse information and process flow, employee needs, and implement change, as required.
- update your job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; and the maintenance of your professional networks.
- run a safe, injury and accident-free workplace.
- manage the relationships of key customers, suppliers and shareholders.
- communicate customer issues with operational staff and devise ways of improving the customer experience (including problem resolution & complaints), as required.
- communicate all operational policies and/or issues with staff, at team meetings.
- communicate all legal, operational and business issues identified to the Directors, on a continual basis.
- have excellent computer literacy and communication skills.
