Due to our awarded project portfolio, we are seeking an experiencedOperations Manager – Engineering and Construction to join our Leadership Team to drive successful delivery of a portfolio of projects across Australia.
Based out of our corporate head office in Rhodes you will be manage all aspects of Operations across a range of high profile projects. Your experience managing Tier One, multi-million dollar projects across, , Defence, Oil and Gas, Water, Renewable Energy, will be highly regarded.
Primary Objectives of the Role:
- Supporting the Engineering and Construction Group to execute projects safely profitably and on schedule.
- Ensure successful delivery of a portfolio of projects across Australia.
- Converting materials and labour inputs into engineered and fabricated outputs as efficiently as possible
- Continuous improvement of company systems and processes to increase efficiency.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
The Operations Manager is responsible and accountable for the following:
- Provide inspired leadership for the Operations Team.
- Ensure the Operations Group meets its safety, financial and business growth commitments.
- Develop and influence key policy, planning, and strategy decisions.
- Help promote a company culture that encourages top quartile performance and high morale.
- Oversee budgeting, reporting, forecasting, planning, and auditing.
- Work with senior stakeholders in developing and executing strategy.
- Identify and address issues and opportunities for improvement / risk mitigation.
- Build alliances and strategic partnerships with other businesses / stakeholders.
- Support employee engagement with both blue / white collar employees.
- On-time and on-budget delivery of Engineering and fabrication to the required quality.
- Provision of HSE and Quality and Controls services to projects.
- Executing / supporting internal business improvement / change projects to improve profitability.
- Recruit, select, train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel, and discipline employees.
- Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews.
- Implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.
- Complete audits, project surveillances and identify trends supporting delivery improvements.
- Improve operations processes for material handling, fabrication, equipment maintenance, equipment utilisation, inventory management and shipping.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures.
- Work closely with CEO and management team to set and/or implement policies, procedures, and systems and to follow through with implementation including Saunders Values.
ABOUT YOU
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in Construction, Engineering Operations role for large projects
- Senior Project management, construction management or equivalent experience
- Experience Managing large, diverse, multi-disciplinary teams
- Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills
- Demonstrate the ability to Identify and address issues and opportunities for improvement / risk mitigation.
- High level communication and negotiation skills, both verbal and written
- Engineering, construction or project management Trade Certificate or Degree.
